MAY GENERAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS 

CHILLIWACK COUNCIL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Annual Knights of Columbus Council 3478 Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Cheam Golf course, 44610 Luckakuck Way, Chilliwack, with the first tee-off at 10:00am.

Entry fee will be $44.00 for members and their families and $49.00 for non-member guests, which will include green fees, a burger and a chance to win numerous prizes.

Due to golf course limitations, meal and prize arrangements, golfers must register by Thursday August 27, 2010.  To register and/or donate a prize, please contact Dale Erikson at 604-824-5506.

STATE-HOSTED FIRST DEGREE EXEMPLIFICATION

In conjunction with the kick-off to our 100th Anniversary Celebration, the State Executive Degree Team will hold a First Degree Exemplification at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel in Surrey on Friday, June 18, 2010, honouring our special guest Deputy Supreme Knight, Dennis Savoie.  Registration will start at 6:00pm and the exemplification will follow right after.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity and start calling your prospects now.  You can pre-register your candidates by email or by contacting the following persons.   Councils bringing their candidates are reminded to provide their own kit (rosaries, pins, booklets, etc.)

STATE CENTENNIAL BANQUET

The State Centennial Banquet will be held at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel, Surrey BC on Saturday, June 19, 2010.  Tickets are $50.00 per person; Mass is at 5:00pm followed by the Banquet.

            This banquet is a very important function of our State Council as it falls 100 years and one day after the official Charter Date of June 18, 1910. Tickets are limited to 500, and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on receipt of payment in full.

            Tickets will not be available at the door. If you need a room for the night, arrangements have been made with Sheraton Guildford Hotel for a special deal. The room rate is priced at $130.00 per night including taxes.

            We all look forward to a very successful and fraternal evening to celebrate this momentous occasion in the history of The British Columbia and Yukon State Council.

FINANCIAL SECRETARY’S REPORT - Membership Dues 

            Thank you to all members who have paid their dues for the year 2010. There are still many that are still outstanding and you are encouraged to keep your membership current by submitting your payment as soon as possible. The due date for payment was January 15.

            Members who for financial or other reasons, are not able to pay their dues, are requested to advise either the Grand Knight or Financial Secretary. Dues can be waived or deferred for financial reasons.

            Dues for Regular Members are $35.00 per year; Honourary Life Members pay $10.00. Cheques are to be made payable to K of C Council 3478 and submitted to the Financial Secretary, Yvo De Boer. Thank you.
